I began teaching special education in 2003, and have taught students in grades 2 through 12 in a variety of settings. I began my teaching career in Chicago Public Schools, and have also taught in Cottage Grove, MN, Hudson, WI, and now at New Heights.
New Heights is unique setting unlike any I’ve worked at before. The environment is much less crowded and stressful than other special education programs, so I am able to devote more individual attention to the students I work with. Because the regular education classes are small, many students can be supported within the regular education classroom setting.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s degree in Special Education from Roosevelt University in Chicago. I also spent two years conducting bullying prevention trainings for the Minnesota Department of Public Safety- School Safety Center.
My husband and I live in Hudson, WI, with our two sons. In my free-time I enjoy reading, writing, yoga, playing with my kids and spending time with my family.
