I am excited to be in my fourth year here at New Heights and my seventh year teaching overall. I am teaching science to all grade 7 through 12 students. This year classes include: Earth Science for 7th & 8th grade; Physical Science for 9th grade; Biology for 10th grade; Environmental Science for 11th and 12th grade. I am always hard at work making the sciences relevant and interesting to all my students as well as following the Minnesota State Science standards.
I am originally from North Dakota but came to Minnesota for college at the University of Minnesota Morris. I graduated with a BA in Biology and my teaching license (middle school science and 9-12 life science). I enjoyed Minnesota so much that I stayed in this state to teach. Just this past spring I completed my Masters of Arts in Education degree at Hamline University in Natural Sciences and Environmental Education. I am currently working on increasing my teaching license to include other sciences, such as physics.
I greatly enjoy teaching at New Heights School. The small school and small class sizes are a wonderful way to get to know my students. I am looking forward to another successful year!
Here is my website, which lists some information about tests and quizzes as well as providing the vocab words for each vocab quiz coming up. Check it out:
