Announcement - Authorizer Update
Recent events have forced a change in direction for New Heights School specifically pertaining to its prospective new authorizer. At present, Stillwater Area Schools, ISD 834, remains as "sponsor" to New Heights School. This became official Thursday June 30, 2011 when the Stillwater School Board voted in favor of a resolution to enact a 1-year extension to the contract which was set to expire at midnight June 30. The New Heights administrative team is re-evaluating the available authorizers and will be submitting a "request for change of authorizer" application to the Minnesota Department of Education in a timely manner. Updates to the process will be posted on this website as new information becomes available. At this time, it is important to know that the circumstances leading to the need for Stillwater Area Schools to extend the contract as sponsor was beyond the control of New Heights School, and in no way should be considered as a failure on the school's part to comply with state laws, rules or regulations. We are grateful to the members of the Stillwater Area Schools District for acting quickly, professionally, and appropriately to ensure that New Heights remains as an educational option for students and families living in the greater St. Croix Valley area.

New Heights has a new food service partnership and now offers a salad bar. This partnership with Done Right Food includes a brand new menu of healthy "from scratch" food items that began being served in May of last year. Check out the Food Service page for more info.
